The Mind Body Connection
Mind-body counselor Barbara Levine writes, "The guiding light of the body is the mind. Recognizing the connection between thoughts, words, imaginings, mental pictures, and emotions that stimulate illness and wellness enables you to expand your control of the healing process.
Our sadness, disappointments, anger, grief, and other negative experiences can show up as symptoms and ailments in our bodies. Also our self talk and feelings triggers responses in our bodies that lead to chemical, hormonal, and neurological changes that can throw off the delicate balance of the hormonal system involved in reproduction.
Research has shown that the increase in reproductive problems among women and men today may not only be attributable to environmental factors, but also that emotional conflict can upset the healthy functioning of bodily systems. Studies have confirmed that emotions can affect your delicately balanced hormonal system, which controls ovulation, spermatogenesis and pregnancy.
As Dr. Frank Minirth writes in The Power of Memories, "Bad, painful memories are not stored in the same way as happy, pleasant memories. The painful memories are stored behind a protective wall which prevents easy access so that they do not continue to hurt constantly.
The more these emotions are suppressed the harder it is to keep them contained. They have the habit of bursting into our present day lives when we least expect them.
It is important to realize that current responses to tension-provoking situations are often related directly incidents that occurred in childhood and the family environment.Emotional conflicts can arise in the form of family secrets we unknowingly repress. We often don't allow ourselves to think about things. However, we can't keep secrets from our bodies. The body remembers what the mind wants to forget.
This program will help you to:
(1) access your subconscious and conscious mind to explore childhood memories and experiences, and the family influences on your thoughts, attitudes, feelings, and behavior about menstruation, sexuality, conception, pregnancy, and childbirth;
(2) by accessing your subconscious mind it can be possible to work through and resolve long-forgotten painful memories. This is achieved with emotional-release techniques that allow you to connect with the vital energy that is held back by your past attempts to conceive:
(3) listen to your body, discover what it really wants; and,
(4) discover what you are truly feeling about conception.
